Workshop on Personal Development at IILM University, Gurugram
The dynamic and complex environment calls for the re-examination of the factors contributing to personal and professional effectiveness of every progressive being. An interactive and engaging workshop on Personal Development was conducted at IILM University, Gurugram on 6th of April 2019 to sensitize the educator community from various educational institutions of Gurugram. Various schools participated in the workshop. MRIS, Shalom Hills International, Salwan Public School DPSG PV to name a few .
The workshop covered the sessions on Interpersonal Skills , Critical Thinking, The World of Work in the 21st Century, Emotional Intelligence and Leveraging Social Media. Dr. Sona Vikas, the resource person emphasised on the fact that interpersonal skills are essential traits on which we rely upon when we interact and communicate with others to build relationships.
The vision of Dr. Sandhya Prakash enlightened us with the purpose of Liberal Arts education which is not about making us literate but is rather a path to innovation and diversity. Emotionally intense changes in professional and personal fronts can often leave us physically and emotionally drained leading to burnouts putting into motion an insidious cycle that leads to even greater resistance to change.
Professor Rutuparna equipped the educators with a powerful tool of critical emotional intelligence competency to help embrace the change rather than brace it. Apart from this, the mentors were also updated with the rapid paradigm shift in 21st century careers where Artificial Intelligence , Technology, Digitisation , Genetic Editing, Fitness & well being, Neuroscience and Automation would be the face of change.
The session was concluded by Professor Harman Mangat drawing our attention to leverage our strengths digitally to our competitive advantage as the need of the hour.
